School History

Madre Giovanna Rusolillo (Secondary) Group of Schools was formally known as Madre Giovanna Russolillo Girls High School. It was established on the 21st September, 2009 in order to assuage the burning desire of parents within and outside the Mbaise locality who want their children in our nursery and primary schools to continue enjoying the quality education which the sisters render. The school is owned and managed by the vocationist sisters. It is opened to boarders and day students from every creed.

The following were the pioneer staff; Rev. Sr. Carol Ibeziako (Principal), Rev. Sr. Chinyere Ebelike (Vice Principal), Mr. Ambrose Njoke, Prisca Eleba, Ms. Dominica Ibe, Mr. Christopher Iwu, Mr. Ignatius Anoshie, Mr. Bon Anuforo, Faleyin Seyi, Victor Waribo and Mton Udocite. On the first day of resumption there were fifteen (15) students in attendance. But by the end of that academic year, the number increased.

Madre Giovanna Rusolillo Group of Schools (MAGRGOS) secured all the necessary government approvals for the school; school approval (30th January, 2011), approval for JSSCE (29th February, 2012), upgraded to senior state and WAEC Approval (15th April, 2014) and NECO approval (14th January, 2015). These made it possible for our school to sit for her first SSCE by 2015. MAGRGOS became a mixed school on the 22nd September, 2014. As of now the boys are strictly boarders.

In academics, our staff remain a militant advocate for qualitative education and ensuring that our students to be among the best in the environment. Weekly sports to keep fit, quiz and debating programmes to keep them on their toes.

Morally, the school has always done well to give our students the best. We have daily sacrifice of the mass, liturgy of the hours, rosary procession, weekly catechism, monthly recollection and confession to uplift the students spiritually.

Socially, our school have a very good choir and dancing groups which can entertain any audience.
